March 2024

¡Hola, familia SE! Thank you for your patience and ongoing support. These past few months have been busy but very productive.

We feel incredibly blessed to have successfully concluded our largest fundraiser. We partnered with Vida Abundante, and together, we raised the necessary funds to build a roof for the gym at a school in La Union

Lempira, Honduras. Additionally, we have enough funds to purchase new computers for their computer lab. This has truly been a huge blessing. In the initial stages, we anticipated a long-term fundraising effort due to the substantial funds required. God's plans often require a leap of faith, and He takes care of the rest. We have already wired the funds to the school, and once they receive it, they will provide a timeline for the project. Stay tuned for updates by following us on our social media accounts. This month, we had the opportunity to collaborate with Off-road Scholars, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting education and connecting students with educational opportunities in remote areas of Honduras. It all began with a group of 4-wheel enthusiasts who recognized a need and decided to take action. We met Casey Bauer, the founder, during our time in Honduras, as he was Juan’s sponsor. Our missions align in various ways, and we were incredibly thankful to partner with them. Off-road Scholars supplied basic school supplies for 1,300 students. Thanks to your recurring donations, we were able to contribute $1000 to their project, enabling them to provide school supplies to 125 kids for the 2024 academic year. I've attached a few photos shared by them to give you a glimpse of the impact.

In other news, this year, we received eight applications for our Bright Future Scholarship! The scholarship aims to support students in Honduras who may encounter financial obstacles in covering the expenses associated with SAT or TOEFL exams. Through our program, we offer financial assistance, mentorship, and guidance. Taking these exams may not guarantee scholarships, but opens up possibilities. The cost of tests discourages students from studying abroad as they aren’t able to afford them. Besy and Alejandra, previous scholarship winners, serve as testimonials to the transformative impact of having the opportunity to take these exams. Both are currently studying at colleges in the United States. Our goal extends

beyond students studying in the States; rather, it is to inspire students to dream big and bridge the gap between their limited resources and the diverse opportunities that can lead to a brighter future.

Winners will be announced soon, and we are pleased to share that we have selected the winners for this year's Bright Future Scholarship. Looking ahead, we hope to potentially offer a full-ride scholarship for students to study in Honduras.

Additionally, I'd like to share some updates on upcoming activities and important dates. This month, we will be sending care packages to students whom we mentor and who are studying in the States. The positive feedback from this initiative is truly heartwarming. It not only highly encourages the students but also serves as a reminder of how loved they are. We include a taste of home to help them with homesickness and provide encouragement as they approach midterms and finals. As a former international student, I know how impactful this can be. Thank you for enabling this through your donations and support.

Can you believe that April 29th marks our third anniversary as a nonprofit? Some of you have been with us since before we officially became a nonprofit, and we are incredibly thankful for your support. We also feel blessed to welcome new partners who believe in our cause and have joined us on this journey. None of what we do would be possible without your support. While we haven't celebrated our anniversary in the past, this year, we want to ensure we do so because there is so much to celebrate and be thankful for. We recognize that God is using us and all of you to bring positive change to diverse communities.

As we approach our anniversary, we invite you to join us in commemorating this milestone by donating. No matter the amount, your contribution will make a significant impact on our mission. In honor of our third year, we encourage you to consider donating $3, $30, $300, or even $3000. Every donation matters, and together, we can continue making a difference in the lives of students and communities we serve. Thank you for being part of our journey, we look forward to celebrating with your support. Your generosity enables us to make a positive impact. Here's to many more years of making a meaningful difference!

Go well,

Ale + Austin
