October Update 2022
Good morning SE Familia!
We know it has been a minute since we sent an update, but we have had our hands full. This update is going to focus more on how to best pray for us. If you want to hear specifics, please email us back here and we will share what we are able to. How to pray for us this October:
1. We both have had family emergencies this past year and have experienced many losses. Although we hoped they were over and the rest of the year would smooth out, it has continued to be challenging. If you want to know how to pray specifically for our families, please email us back here.
2. Honduras has been experiencing a LOT of rain. The excess rain has caused roads to be wiped out and bridges to collapse. Some villages are isolated and repairs will be slow. Please pray that the weather begins to clear up, roads to dry, and repairs happen quickly and last (rather than just a quick fix).
3. Vision. With everything that has been going on, it has been hard at times to have a clear vision. We want to be faithful to what God puts before us, but with needs rising and situations becoming complicated, we ask that you lean into God with us to pray for clarity, discernment, and peace in our decisions, actions, and words.
Despite the brief email, we want you to know how greatly we appreciate each of you. Your support through encouragement, finances, and prayer makes such a difference in our lives. We really appreciate your prayers, especially through this difficult season we find ourselves in. Through it all, we know one thing: God is working in us, through us, and around us. The 'us' is not limited to just Alejandra and Austin, but you as well, the SE Familia. We thank God for each of you and the work you are doing, both as part of the SE Familia and in your day-to-day lives. We have seen tragedies these past three years, but we have also seen God do amazing things and open doors we thought unthinkable. We thank God for what he has done, what he is doing, and what he has yet to do through you and through Sembrando Esperanza.
May you go well and have a blessed October!
Blessings, Alejandra + Austin Empowering to empower.
