Our Latest Updates

Good morning Sow Hope Familia! We hope you all are doing well! We hope you explore the new layout of our newsletter and would love any feedback you might have. One of our major goals this year is to develop our communications and ask for any and all feedback you might have! You will find our updates in the sections below. Blessings, Alejandra + Austin Empowering Minds, Building Brighter Futures

What's in This Newsletter

  1. The chairs and books are being shipped!!! We are so grateful for the ability to be able to purchase 250 school chairs and five boxes full of books to send to a school that is being built in Gualcinse, Lempira, Honduras! This school is the newest from ALCS (Abundant Life Christian Schools) to be built. We work with ALCS because of their dedication and mission to educating children in God's word to be positive contributors to the world, but most importantly, to God's Kingdom. We used Rapida Cargo, a Honduran-based company, to do the shipping. They picked up the chairs from us in Urbandale, Iowa, and will deliver them in Honduras. God answered a huge prayer to make this possible! We even received a shoutout from the company!

  1. Our t-shirt fundraiser has raised $244.77 in two weeks. We have one week left in the first batch of orders, so if you want to receive a t-shirt or sweatshirt before the end of October, please get those orders in by October 6! Remember, every donation, every order, every share makes a difference in making the gym and computer lab a reality for these students. You can order the apparel here or scroll to the bottom of this newsletter. We have raised a total of $2,800.00 in our Givebutter donations; this does not include the next point below!

  1. One of the things we look for in projects is communities who take part in the work with us. The Christian, bilingual school we are partnering with in La Union is all in with this and has begun fundraising alongside us. The school sold pizzas Friday, September 29th, and raised over $157!!

  1. We have been discussing how we want to use our newsletters to give highlights and updates from the month, but we still want to give personal updates. For those interested, we created a blog category devoted to just personal updates from us. It will focus on what is going on in our lives outside of Sembrando Esperanza and hope you find encouragement through it and understand how to pray for us better. You can find it at the bottom of the newsletter by clicking on the link "Personal Updates".
